UK Spouse Visa
The UK partner and spouse visa allows a qualified foreign national to enter the country and reside with their partner, who must be a British citizen or permanent resident.
The minimum wage criterion for the UK Spouse Visa has been raised to £29,000 as of April 11, 2024.
Fiancé Visa
The Fiancé Visa is intended for foreign nationals who plan to marry or form a civil partnership with a British citizen or an immigrant living in the UK; they will thereafter convert to a Spouse Visa.
The minimum wage criterion for a UK fiancé visa has increased to £29,000 as of April 11, 2024.
Indefinite leave to remain (ILR)
A migrant to the UK with indefinite leave to remain (ILR) is entitled to remain here indefinitely without facing any immigration limitations. ILR is sometimes referred to as “permanent residence,” “settlement,” or “settlement visa.” With ILR, you and your family members won’t have to apply for a new visa in order to live, work, or study in the UK permanently.
British Citizenship
British naturalisation is the legal process of becoming a British citizen if you are not British by birth. As a naturalised British citizen, you will be eligible for a UK passport and have the same rights and privileges as a British person. You will be able to live, work, and access public funds in the UK.
EU Settlement scheme
The EU settlement scheme is for individuals who are an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen living in the UK who want to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. This route does not apply to people who have already been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
Administrative Review
An Administrative Review is a formal request that the Home Office reconsider an immigration decision where it is believed they made a mistake. To request an Administrative, you must have received an ‘eligible’ decision from the Home Office.
Appeal
If your UK visa application is refused, you will receive a letter from the Home Office explaining the reasons for your visa refusal and whether you have the right to lodge an appeal or request an Administrative Review. If you wish to appeal the immigration decision, you will need to do so within the required time. Typically, you will have 14 days if you are inside the UK and 28 days to appeal a UK visa refusal if you are outside the UK.
Judicial Review
An immigration judicial review is a legal process to challenge the immigration decision made by the Home Office or a court that you think was either illegal, irrational, or unfair. You can apply to the Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber (UTIAC) for a judicial review to challenge the lawfulness of an immigration decision.
